HIMSS22 kicks off with KLAS celebration, merger news, and good ol’ fashioned facetime with friends

HIMSS22 is off to a great start down here in sunny Orlando!

Monday night’s KLAS® awards dinner was a wonderful celebration of so many in the healthcare IT space. It was especially fantastic to see so many Rhapsody health solutions clients as KLAS awards recipients. We help power some impressive solutions that are making such a difference for clinicians and patients, and we’re so proud to call them our customers.

This year, KLAS invited award recipients to share videos showing how their teams celebrated. As the winner of Best in KLAS in the Software & Services Integration Engine category, our employees raised a glass (or coffee mug) to celebrate in a “cheers to 13 years” themed video.

The big excitement on Tuesday was our announcement that NextGate is joining the Rhapsody health solutions family. Several customers had received our email or seen the news on LinkedIn and stopped by to find out more.

There’s real excitement buzzing around the possibilities that adding industry-leading identity resolution and enterprise master person index (eMPI) technology could do for our clients. Several analysts and news outlets shared their reactions on Twitter, including John Moore, founder Chilmark Research, and Daniel Ulatowski, practice director, healthcare and life sciences solution enablement for Unify Consulting.

Already we’ve got some of the NextGate team in the Rhapsody booth, and it’s been great to learn firsthand what makes the NextGate solution so successful. As our companies come together, I can only imagine how strong we will be in what we can help our customers achieve. For Rhapsody health solutions customers needing identity management initiatives, the merger means immediate access to pre-built connectors to the Corepoint and Rhapsody interface engines, Envoy Managed Services, and Rhapsody API gateway. NextGate customers needing to enhance the interoperability of their solutions will have access to the Rhapsody Interoperability Suite

We’ve also had some insightful conversations with current customers and prospects from HCIT vendors and health systems who are looking to solve an interoperability problem. Envoy seems to be of particular interest as we can assist teams in quickly deploying an integration engine so their teams can focus on their own software and solutions. When we can act as an extension of the client’s team, wonderful things happen!

Bethany Miller-Urroz, vice president, strategic accounts, left, met up with Judy Faulkner, Epic CEO at HIMSS22. Earlier this month, Epic announced the launch of Garden Plot for independent medical groups. Garden Plot includes integrated products from Rhapsody health solutions.

Ultimately, it’s just so nice to see colleagues and clients face-to-face again after two years away. I’m excited to see what the rest of the HIMSS22 conference looks like. If you’re attending, swing by booth 3559 and say hello!
